Drainage of pus from inside a cavity
Combination of removal of tonsils in the throat together with burning of the adenoid tissues from the back of the nose
Excision / removal of tissue from the back of the nose which may obstruct the breathing and can cause repeated throat or ear infections (also glue ear)

Nosebleeds can often be treated in A&E with silver nitrate or packs. If that does not stop the bleeding, an operation may be necessary.
