Removal of a part or all of the parotid gland (superficial/total radical/extended total)
Removal of polyps in the nose (which may cause obstruction of the airway at night)
Treatment of salivary gland stones, adhesions or strictures. It is done by opening the mouth of the salivary duct inside the mouth.
Excision of a salivary gland due to stones or tumour (submandibular, sublingual, parotid gland)
Cyst originating from skin (usually excised under local anaesthetic, if larger may require general anaesthetic)
Operation to straighten / align the visible bit of the nose that separates the right from the left nostril + straightening of the cartilage inside the nose that separates the two sides of the nose
closure of a hole in the cartilage separating the left from the right side of the nose
Diagnostic procedure / examination to investigate the function of pharyngeal structures in patients with unacceptable snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea (pharyngeal wall, tongue base, tonsils, soft palate). Done before surgery and usually after sleep studies.
